چکیده

Inside Front Cover In article number 2100453, Kuttner, Liz-Marzán, Seifert and co-workers demonstrate mechano-optical nanostructures with reversibly tunable lattice-plasmon resonances consisting of self-assembled superlattices on stretchable substrates. Macroscopic mechanical strain allows a single lattice structure to be adapted both red-shifted blue-shifted excitation lines for maximum surface-enhanced Raman scattering. This post-assembly fine-tuning optical parameters enables rapid screening most-efficient superlattice designs.

Stretchable plasmonic substrate with tunable resonances for surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy

Transparent and flexible functional nanostructures are very important for flexible electronic devices, such as roll-up displays, handheld portable devices, and wearable electronics, and have attracted growing scientific and industrial interest in recent years. We produced a facile and flexible hybrid structure by conjugating plasmonic nanostructures onto the surface of a poly (dimethylsiloxane)...

Electronic resonances in broadband stimulated Raman spectroscopy

Spontaneous Raman spectroscopy is a formidable tool to probe molecular vibrations. Under electronic resonance conditions, the cross section can be selectively enhanced enabling structural sensitivity to specific chromophores and reaction centers. The addition of an ultrashort, broadband femtosecond pulse to the excitation field allows for coherent stimulation of diverse molecular vibrations. Wi...

A RIGOROUS COMPARISON OF METHODS FOR MULTI-WALLED CARBON NANOTUBES PURIFICATION USING RAMAN SPECTROSCOPY

Multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWNT’s) were synthesized using chemical vapor deposition (CVD) method in a fluidized bed reactor under the flow of methane and hydrogen gases. A Cobalt-molybdenum/magnesium oxide (Co-Mo/MgO) nanocatalyst was used as the catalyst of the process. The samples were analyzed using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) analyses. The effects of d...

Tunable laser resonance raman spectroscopy of bacteriorhodopsin.

Bacteriorhodopsin is a rhodopsin-like protein found in the cell membrane of Halobacterium halobium. It shows an absorption maximum at 570 nm and, in the light, undergoes cyclic spectral changes which include a relatively long-lived complex absorbing maximally at 412 nm. Excitation profiles have been obtained with several laser frequencies for two vibrations in the resonance Raman spectrum of ba...

Raman Spectroscopy of Ferroelectric Thin Films and Superlattices

Recent results of Raman spectroscopy studies of lattice dynamics and phase transitions in ferroelectric thin films and superlattices are reviewed. Raman studies of SrTiO3, BaTiO3, and BaxSr1−xTiO3 thin films in comparison to corresponding single crystals are presented; essential differences in the lattice dynamics behavior of thin films and single crystals are discussed. Application of ultravio...
